Growing taller than the ceiling, 2025



This project is a personal reflection on the emotional process of growing up, separating from my twin sister, and learning to live on my own for the first time. Two years ago, we moved together from Russia to the Netherlands, starting a new life far from our home and family. Until now, we’ve always shared a space—but this is the first time we’re living apart.

Through photographs and small everyday moments, I document the shift from a shared home to an individual one—and the search for a sense of belonging that might exist not in a place, but within myself. Growing Taller Than the Ceiling is about change, memory, closeness, and the tender space between holding on and letting go.
